i am confused regarding the usage of "being" , i know that in general it is avoidable (on GMAT)... but still it would be really helpful if
can know some strong grammatical concept to eliminate a choice with 'being' in it.

thanks

"being" is typically wrong on gmat due to redundancy.
for example "being excited about" has the same meaning as "excited about" and thus redundant.

here is one more example i just came across here http://gmatclub.com/forum/11-t67220?hilit=the+current+administration here the sentence uses a redundant structure "being worried over some foreign trade" the correct answer C eliminates "being"
