Doing 6-7 RCs won’t help that much but knowing why you marked the question incorrect in even 2-3 RCs will be great.

DI official material is enough to get a high DI score. You can try to skip the MSRs and do it at the end( only if you find it difficult).

Hi GMAT695,

Thanks for your response. Currently I am practising RC's daily (6-7 on an average, usually 605-755 level).

Additionally, in DI I am really struggling with the timing bit, especially in TA and MSR questions. I have exhausted almost all official content available on GMATCLUB and e-gmat subscription. Any recommendations for improving speed in DI?

Hi Aakarsh,

Given the mock scores and variations you're experiencing, here are some advices-

1. Try taking Verbal first if you are unable to concentrate till the end.
2. You don't need to do all questions correct in DI to score a DI80+. Aim for around 80% accuracy.
3. If you are strong in quant, focus on maximizing your score by improving your weaker topics.
4. Lastly, try relaxing for the last few days and take 1-2 practice tests.

All the best.

Hi Everyone,
I hope you’re all doing well. I have my GMAT exam scheduled for October 5th, and I’m currently stuck in the 80-89%ile range in my mock scores (both official and Experts Global). I’ve also noticed significant variation in my scores, especially in verbal.
To give you some context, I began my prep at the end of May (with egmat) and initially planned to take the exam by the end of August. However, due to my performance in mocks, I decided to extend my preparation time. Unfortunately, I still find myself at the same percentile. I left my job in July, so a lot is riding on this exam.
With just 10 days left, I’m seeking advice on how to optimize my prep. My target score is between 675-685, and I’ve attached my progress on the Experts Global mocks for reference. Additionally, I’ve noticed a decline in my DI scores.
Here are my official mock scores:
  • Mock 1: 615 (DI 77, Q80, V84)
  • Mock 2: 575 (DI 80, Q77, V79)
  • Mock 1 (repeat): 645 (DI 81, Q83, V81)
  • Mock 2 (repeat): 615 (DI 81, Q83, V78)
  • Mock 1 (repeat): 655 (DI 77, Q90, V81)
  • Mock 3: 615 (DI 77, Q82, V82)
Any guidance or strategies you can share would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Hi aakarsh1001,

So, the good news is that you are in a pretty nice spot!

That said, you must continue to find your holes and fix them to improve your score. Topical practice is a great way to do that.

For example, let’s say that you want to practice Number Properties. You can do so by answering 50 or more questions just from Number Properties: LCM, GCF, units digit patterns, divisibility, remainders, etc.

After each problem set, thoroughly analyze your incorrect questions. For example, if you got a remainder question wrong, ask yourself why. Did you make a careless mistake? Did you not properly apply the remainder formula? Was there a concept you did not understand in the question?

By carefully analyzing your mistakes, you will be able to fix your weaknesses efficiently and, in turn, improve your GMAT quant skills. Number Properties is just one example; follow this process for all quant, verbal, and DI topics.
