Thank you so much Shantanu for looking into my query and profile. Yes, I'm aware that my GMAT score isn't as competitive as it should be. I was let down by my quant performance on the day of the test (scored 85th percentile versus consistently scoring in the 90s in mocks).
Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time for a retake before the R1 deadline of INSEAD. Hoping, the overall profile is good enough for a call.
I will look into the programs you shared and apply accordingly. Thank you again!
Thank you for providing a detailed overview of your background. Based on the information shared and drawing upon recent trends in global MBA admissions, your profile looks strong, with a solid foundation in both academics and professional experience.
Having an engineering degree from an NIT and an MBA from FMS Delhi places you among the top candidates from India. Your 9.5 years of experience, including 4.5 years in management consulting and a marketing role at Google, gives you a diverse and valuable skill set.
Your international exposure—through projects in Europe and the Middle East, business meetings in the US, and an internship in the Netherlands—further enhances your profile for global MBA programs.
Additionally, your extracurricular leadership, including positions in college clubs and multiple business case competition wins, showcases both analytical strength and leadership capability.
However, your GMAT Focus score of 665 (93rd percentile), while competitive, is slightly on the lower side for some top European MBA programs. That said, your profile remains highly compelling.
Given your preference for a one-year program with strong international career outcomes and scholarship opportunities, top options beyond INSEAD would include:
- London Business School (MBA or Sloan)
- Oxford Saïd
- Cambridge Judge
- IMD (Switzerland)
- IE (Spain)
- ESADE (Spain)
- SDA Bocconi (Italy)
These programs are globally respected, offer strong career mobility, and provide financial aid options for high-caliber international candidates.

Hello!
I recently applied to INSEAD January 2026 MBA FT intake (R1). However, as I wait for an interview decision, I'm wondering which other non-US schools can I apply to that are top ranked. My priorities are: 1) International career opportunities post graduation, 2) 1-year accelerated MBA preferred (not a deal breaker though) and, 3) A good chance at scholarships to minimize debt.
Please share your thoughts. If you need any additional information, let me know. Also, sharing my profile below. TIA!
- Demographics: Indian, Male, Engineer & MBA.

- Work Experience: 9.5 years (by Jan'26). Initial career experience in management consulting (4.5 years), then moved to Google in a marketing role.
