I am 3 weeks into my studies and would really love to score a 700+ when I take my GMAT in May. I scored a 570 on my 1st CAT, without studying anything. I am currently using the EMPOWERgmat program (highly recommended!!!) and believe I am learning how to truly attack this test. I am studying everyday and have seen some slight progress in how I think about the questions. However, I am having issues when it comes to timing and accuracy. I can't help but realize that as I practice my own problems, I seem to take longer than the 2 minutes-per-question time allotted for each question. Furthermore, when I review my problems via the online videos in EMPOWERgmat, the solutions given often take longer than 2 minutes to go through, although this is not Rich's fault...he is a great tutor! It just seems that, for many questions, the amount of time it takes to process, organize, and use the available information to produce a result is longer than 2 minutes. When I run into problems like these, I tend to sacrifice the accuracy, logic, and the attention to detail of my work to fit into the 2-minute-per-question time limit. This often leads to me getting the question wrong. Long story short, does anyone have ANY tips that allow them to improve their speed of working through a problem, while still maintaining their accuracy? Is it merely a matter of focusing more and writing faster? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
P.S. I usually run into this problem on the quant section. However, I find that, among the more difficult Verbal section questions, the same issue can occur.
Thanks in advance!
