I took my GMAT in February 2014 and landed up with 660 ( Q:47, V;34, IR :6, AWA: 4), this was my second GMAT attempt. My work schedule is very hectic and it seems impossible to devote more time in order to improve my score, so I have decided to settle with current score.
I am already applying to few B schools in India, however I need some guidance in order to select B -schools abroad (Preferably in Canada & Singapore). For insight I am listing below information.
Work Ex and Education
- 5 years of work ex in Luxury Hotel Sales ( In Middle Management positions)
- Currently handling Key Accounts for a prominent 5 Star Hotel Chain in India
- Graduated from the top college of Hospitality and Hotel Administration in India with 69% marks
- Marks 12th Std : 66% ; 10thStd : 74.2%
Post MBA Plan ( At least one should follow)
- Industry Shift
- Functional shift from Sales to Marketing
Finances ( Big concern area, during MBA and post MBA recruitment, as I am the key earning member of my family)
- I would need Financial Aid and Scholarship
Since I am working with some limitations, I want to channelize my efforts in targeting right B schools and walk away with best possible quality of education.
Please help me with your suggestions

Hey there good sir,
Allrighty. So my first suggestion is that when you present your goals to the Bschools do not present them goals that contain both an industry and function shift. You might be able to do it, but it doesn't make for a solid or believable story. So choose something you know (i.e. moving up in your industry of hospitality to a higher and better function).
As an Indian candidate with a 660 top 20 schools are likely out, but you will have plenty of other totally great options. (like all the schools ranked 20-50). Your financial consideration though will make things tougher. Because these are schools you will be able to get in, but maybe not necessarily with scholarship. I don't know exactly your situation, so you may want to take tuition fees into consideration as well as cost of living which can vary very very widely depending on where your Bschool is located. Other than that, if you are open to the idea of loans you will have a lot more options than if you are banking on scholarships (and will in fact have better options at better schools).
If you give me a bit of info about your thoughts about what you are looking for, your limitations and so on, I might be able to advise you with a few specific schools,
