Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out here because I honestly don’t know what to do next and I’m extremely scared and overwhelmed.
I received an email from GMAC Test Security stating that my GMAT score has been canceled due to alleged proxy testing activities and that I am banned from taking GMAC exams for five years. This came as a complete shock to me. I took the exam myself, followed all the rules ISOLATED THE WHOLE HOUSE JUST FOR THE EXAM, and did not engage in any unfair practices. I genuinely do not understand why this decision was made.
Right now, I feel lost and terrified because the consequences are very serious and affect my education and future. GMAC has mentioned that I can appeal within 7 days, but I have no idea how to approach this or what kind of information actually helps in an appeal.
I would really appreciate guidance on:

Hi numquamminus wow. This is pretty rare to get something like this!
I have not really seen much this issue come up before (this seems rather rare) with the proxy testing activities - no idea what that is... but there are usually a few routes this goes.
From what I have seen in the past, if you are innocent you should absolutely appeal - that's the expectation. Nobody would want to walk away from it.
My suggestion would be to demonstrate that your scores are consistent with your practice tests on mba.com and that you have a good result there and that you have taken/used many of them and that there was no score issue.
I would indicate that you were alone and not sure what the proxy testing even is... I would also request that they allow you to retake the test in person as that is your end goal - you want to be able to get a score and apply with that score and so they can see that you have genuinely wanted to take the exam and not a cheater/scammer. They sometimes provide the free retake option at a test center in situations when they threaten to ban/cancel score.
