Hi,
I finished taking my GMAT a few hours ago and am quite disappointed with the V35 especially since I always got above V40 in all the official mocks. I found the section tougher and also quite lengthy, not to mention the few glitches in the software that cost me precious 3 minutes yesterday.
I'm in quite a bit of disarray right now. Not sure where I should restart from. Any pointers would be really helpful. TIA!
Posted from my mobile deviceI'm sorry to hear this! That's so frustrating.
In my experience, the biggest difference between the real GMAT and the official practice tests on mba.com is in Sentence Correction.
It seems to me that in the last decade or so, the real test has gained SC problems that emphasize meaning over grammar: there will be 2-3 answer choices that are technically, grammatically correct, but only one that is sensible.
It used to be the case that grammar alone would get you all the way to a single answer choice.
Now, the problems we see in the official practice tests were retired from the real test over a decade ago, and we must ask ourselves how it is decided which problems to retire from the test... If the test makers want to move in a certain direction, they'll retire the problems that aren't a good fit for that new direction.
Therefore, using published official problems to figure out what we'll see on the real test is a bit like what happened here:

I'm offering a free YouTube Live event this Sunday, specifically on using meaning for SC. Would love to see you there. You can find details and set a reminder here:
