Coming here is a great first start. The answers you seek are in the posts. You just need to spend the time and browse around. Read the posts where people solve the problems and learn the methods used.
As for books:
Official Guide 11th Edition. I suggest all three books. The Orange one, and the math and verbal, but definitely the orange one if you choose only 1 official guide book.
PowerScore CR Bible
Manhattan GMAT Sentence Correction Guide (a.k.a.
MGMAT SC Guide)
Not a book, but a great guide: ChineseBurned AWA Guide.
Use the GMATPrep practice tests available on
www.mba.com. You might not be able to get them (there are 2) if you have not registered to take the exam yet. Find other CAT's (Computer Adaptive Tests) to take. There is nothing like actually taking a test on the computer compared to reading questions in a book.
