Hi All,
I would be moving to Canada in Feb'19 as a Permanent Resident and would want to do a 12-16 months course in Analytics or Business. I have digged through various University websites and forums, shortlisting a few courses. (Deadlines in Jan/Feb)
1)
Masters of Management Analytics - Rotman (UoT)
2)
Masters of Management Analytics - Desautels (McGill)
3)
Masters in Business Analytics - Sauders (UBC)
4)
MBA in Management of Technology - Ted Rogers (Ryerson)
5)
Full Time MBA - Beedie (SFU)
There were other options as well (Ivey, McMaster) but either deadlines or a pre-existing MBA were the issue.
I urge the members here to provide a little bit of guidance as to which schools would be better (and if I fit the bill as well) from a job prospective in Banking or Retail Analytics. My Profile : Indian Male ; Age - 28
Bachelor in Engineering in Information Technology in 2012
(U.S GPA - 3.01/4); 2 years in software development (2012 - 2014)
MBA in Information Technology in 2016 (Gold Medalist)
(U.S GPA - 3.9/4); 1 year as Area Sales Manager in India's biggest Telecom provider and 8 months in IT Recruitments (Till Feb'18)
Life Member Indian Red Cross, Head of MBA Entrepreneurial Cell.GMAT in Nov'18
(660 : Q-47 ; V-34 ; IR-5 ; AWA-4) ; Do intend to improve on that by Mid Jan'19
I am moving to Canada to have an ironic
"fresh start" and have burned through almost all of my savings in the process
Criteria and Objectives :I understand that there are multiple nuances to any Admission process. However, it is the general pattern I wanted to know about.
Since whatever course I do, it would be on a student loan. I wanted advice on which schools to target based on my profile with a good job placement scenario, and also do factors like (location - Toronto vs Vancouver) or (reputation Beedie vs Sauders) play a significant role when it comes to the job market.
Thanks a lot in advance,
Anirudh Kapoor
