Hi guys!
I just want to hear your thoughts on whether I should apply for this new job opportunity that I saw last week. It is with a fintech company that also happens to be my current employer's partner. This would help with my post-MBA goals as my primary reason for pursuing an MBA is to shift industries (from financial/insurance to tech) and of course, kick start my career in the international scene.
I am currently working on my MBA applications, writing essays and doing video assessments mostly, except for Rotman who has already invited me for an interview next week. I plan to submit all my applications by next month and expect to receive decisions by April/May. The schools I am applying for have different in-takes, some beginning this Fall 2021 and the others in Jan/Mar 2022. In case I don't get into any of the schools starting in Fall 2021, I will have to opt for the ones beginning in 2022.
If I do end up getting the job and an acceptance for Fall 2021 in-take, I would have to resign after just 4-5 months into the job. if I end up going to a school that starts in 2022, then that would give me more time.
For your reference, the reason that I am considering this is that I am unhappy with my current employer (where I've spent 7 years in, under a gaslighting and Machiavellian boss who has greatly traumatized me and affected my mental health especially this pandemic!)
