Hi Rich,

Thanks for your reply. I will be applying to Harvard, Columbia, Wharton, Booth, Sloan in R1 and depending on thr result will try my luck in R2 at Hass Tuck Kellog and Fuqua.

So you dont think reinstating my firet score to show my competency in IR is not necessary?

Hi Farrell,

Thanks for your reply. If i reinstate my first exam, schools will be receiving both 640 and 730. From here my assumption is that they use 730 to evaluate my application but just in case they have any doubts about my competency in IR, they can at least refer to my first exam where i scored 7 (88th percentile). This is my assumption only and hence i would like to hear any advice from the community whether it is a wise strategy to submit both scores. Thanks

The policy on combining scores varies from school to school, but I'm really not sure if they would combine integrated reasoning in the same way they would verbal or quant. I would suggest that you contact the schools you're interested in and find out what their policy is. I had a client in this exact same situation round to last year, but her IR score was a 1. She retook, and integrated reasoning went up but the rest of her score went down so we had to go with the original score. If it makes you feel any better she was admitted to Booth, even as a Chinese interior designer, very upper over-represented and no quant background. Her overall was 700.

Hi ss1ss123,

You've named some highly competitive Schools, so you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and application plans. There's a Forum full of them here:

I don't think that reinstating your prior score would benefit you at all, but you should really ask an Admissions Expert.

Hi

Test 1: 640 Q48 V29 IR 7 - cancelled
Test 2: 730 Q49 V41 IR 4

Above is my stat for my past two attempts in GMAT. IR went ok for my first trial but i literally bombed the section in the second trial whose overall score came out fine. In this case, i am wondering whether reinstaing the old score is a right strategy to cover up my low IR score in the second exam. Hearing some chatters that schools have begun to factor in IR score and this rumor concerns me a bit. Would appreciate any advice/feedback. Thanks

I understand that your latest score is 730 and you will be applying with it. But, if you re-instate your test 1 score, the school sees that as well. You have shown remarkable improvement in Verbal and some in Quant too. Though I don't think the school will fret over IR4 at all but if there is a slight doubt, an IR7 in the background might help alleviate it. I don't think re-instating your old score will damage your chances in any way - it MIGHT help reassure the ad com about your IR capability. Though you should know that there is only a very tiny chance that it will play any role in their overall decision.

But, I would suggest you to check up with our experts here: https://www.gmatclub.com/forum/veritas-prep-resource-links-no-longer-available-399979.html#-school/
