I wish to join a MBA program in a B School in UK or USA. The recent visa and work related issues associated with students from other countries concerns me and need some help from someone who has been in a similar situation.
The possible ways to deal with the job opportunities after graduation:-
1. Find a job in the same country in which the B school is based:- Considering the huge burden due to forex differences, one can pay off the loan relatively faster compared to paying off with a job in the home country. However, the current stringent working visa situation in UK and USA make job opportunities look very bleak. How to go about the above situation??. I don’t exactly know if there is any support for students in this regard. Can students stay for a year or so and work??. Does the student visa allow graduates to work??.
2. If a graduate returns to India:- what is the kind recognition by corporate recruiters and the job prospects for MBAs from the top B schools in India?. Is the pay to such graduates good enough to take care of the huge loans (to the tune of 100K dollars in INR- 70- 80 Lacs).
Need some clarity on how to manage the funding.
{ My annual pay in India around 15K dollars ( in INR) and my savings are around 7.5K USD . I have mentioned this detail just to give an idea about the vast difference between the 100K loan and my fund inflow}.
Precsious comments and suggestions are welcome.? Thanx.
Hi Sumit,
Your question is a tricky one, given its timing- at this point there is uncertainty about the US visas. SOme of our applicants who joined US business schools last year (tier2) have reported that getting internships has been tough for them this year.
However, I'd say its a dynamic phase right now- new rules and regulations are evolving and exactly how it will be by the time you matriculate (2018 Fall) or graduate (Summer 2020) will be hard to say at this point.
Generally the problems don't arise with the highly skilled workers, so you should be okay doing an MBA in USA. You should also consider Canada.
