Help with RC Strategy

Question

Hi All,
I have my exam on 27th of this month.
Although I have covered most of the topics in Verbal and Quant, I am unable to settle on a particular way to solve RC questions.
Skimming does not work for me.
Would someone please advice as to what I should do? I do not want to miss out on a section.
All help would be appreciated.

You should look at the strategy discussed in this debrief

There are several strategies discussed in these threads. Work on doing as many questions
(preferably from Official sources) and see which of these strategies works best for you!
You should go with one which is most suited to your style!

You've defined RC as an area that you need to work on (and 'skimming' is a terrible approach for RC) - but it's not clear if that's the ONLY area that you need to work on. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) You appear to have taken the GMAT at least once already. When did you score 640? Do you purchase an Enhanced Score Report for that Exam?

Goals:
4) What is your goal score?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
6) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi Rich,
The information that you asked about :
1) Around 6 months. More diligently in the last 3.
2) I've gone through E-gmat for my second attempt. I'm comfortable in SC and CR, but just can't get hold of RC. Also, Quant is not an issue.
3) Yes. Scored 640 in December last year. Q48 and V30. No, I did not purchase an ESR.
4) Target score: 720-740
5) Not in the near future. I want to get GMAT out of the way. I just have over one year of work experience and also need to build a profile. That would take time.
6) ISB, NUS, Rotman, Bocconi are some of the schools I have in mind.

Hi Bakshi121092,

To raise a 640 to a 740, you will almost certainly have to improve in more than just RC - and all of that training will likely take at least another 2 months of consistent, guided study. As such, you might want to consider pushing back your Test Date.

1) How have you scored on EACH of your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

You might also choose to purchase the Enhanced Score Report for your 640. While the ESR doesn't provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what you should work on to score higher. If you purchase the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you.
