Here are some more gmat prep questions would be grateful if someone can explain.

gmat 9:
D is the right answer.
(1) if x is odd then x+5 is even and (x+5)*anything will be even
(2) if x^2 prime factors are greater than 7, then 2 is not a factor of x^2 and not of x. hence x is odd (and continue with (1) reasoning.
gmat 8:
greater than 4 (E).
sqrt(4) is 2, and each of the other terms is greater than 1. so the total is more than 4.
gmat 6:
A.
wx^2 = w*x*x. but w*x = y so 16 = w*x^2 = w*x*x = y*x = x*y.
(statement 2 alone doesn't help us much)

What are the OA for these?
From A we know that w = 4/x but we cannot plug into the question to find the VALUE of x * y INSUFF
From B we only know that y = 4 but do not know the value of w or x INSUFF
Using both we know that W = 4 / x and y = 4 so plugging in the numbers
4 / x * x = 4 and we can then work out a value of x and then we know what x * y equals?
Also, what was your score afther these questions?
