I think this problem is not so simple. I am divided between B and E. there are two idioms:
not so much by ..... but by.............
so much by...................... as by.............
i think, it is B.
not so much by ..... but by.............

Well as pointed out by nocilis the idiom is
not so much ....as well MA this Idiom is given in Kaplan Verbal Book but I don't think if this Idiom is test "as such". Only KAPLAN tests this Idiom.
