Yeah, I guess they weren't really considering that test-takers don't care about those sections. They were sort of just listing the sections.

Would be interesting to hear what adcoms/ex-adcoms think about it, since IR was developed with input from business schools.

The Integrated Reasoning (IR) section of the GMAT—which measures a candidate’s ability to synthesize, interpret, and make judgements based on data from multiple sources—was developed with input from both business schools and corporate recruiters. - MBA website

Hi iceiceevie,

Even prior to the introductio of IR, the section-order of the GMAT was 'fixed': Argument Essay, Issue Essay, Quant, Verbal - AND the test was longer (45 mins for the Issue Essay and the Q/V sections were 75 minutes each).
