IMO C.
a. History shows that while simultaneously attaining
while simultaneously redundant.

b. History would show that, while attaining
makes it probable rather than certain.

c. History bears out that, in the course of attaining
seems ok.

d. During the course of history, the attainment of
Run on sentence.

e. Throughout history, during any country's attaining
I am not able to reject it conclusive but does not sound good.
