I thought HKU was more known because more expats opt to do an MBA at HKU rather than HKUST😂😂

I don’t think HKU is more known. Both are fairly regional s schools. Even INSEAD is not well known in the US. If you’re planning to go and worried about the reputation in the United States, you want to go to school in the United States

HKUST has a large part-time program and has been placing people around Southeast Asia for the last 20 or 30 years, so the name and that region is strong.

If you’re planning to work in Hong Kong, I think either one would probably work fine. Again I feel HKUST has a large larger alumni base.

I am aware of this but I may relocate to Europe later not sure if HKu is more known because I have seen many expats choose HKu rather than HKUST because of the former ones “prestige “ I am not sure if HKU is more valued by someone from the west

globally speaking, which one is better known? seems to me a lot expats from N. America and europe would opt for HKU rather than HKUST because HKUST is unheard of while HKU is somewhat known to them....
