GMATPrep is exactly like the real thing in terms of question types, difficulty, scoring, etc. MGMAT tests are tougher. I got a 620 MGMAT 2 weeks before my test and I got a 740 on the real thing. My last GMATPrep was 730. As far as the questions go I would say that MGMAT math is pretty good but definitely tougher than the real thing, especially what they consider 700-800 level questions. Verbal is Ok, but their CR questions are absolutely awful (they may be the only prep company with CR questions worse than Kaplan).

Yesterday I got a 650 on MGMAT CAT1. I was feeling devastated. As my real score in March was 650, I thought that if this is the result of 4-5 weeks of rigorous study then what the hell I was studying. Your post gives me a little comfort but I admit that I should not just take this for granted. Key point is to work on the weakness.

Hi!

Anyone out there who has taken the Manhattan Online tests?

Want to know how representative of the real thing did you think they were? What were your scores on the Manhattan Onlines and on the actual test?

Thank you.

Let me add - I got my ass kicked by MGMAT CAT1 - got a 620, I may have got 640-650 if it were not for a bad mood in middle of verbal so I lost some interest. It was certainly pretty hard, but I'd say it was a good test. But what I'm getting to know is that while I originally thought I was Shakespeare's descendent, I'm beginning to realize that I'm just a jackass. Darned verbal - I need to attack it now. My RC sucks big time.

I too tok 1 MGMAT test 3 weeks before the test and got 660 or so. I remember getting 49 in Quant, eventhough I made only 4 mistakes. Either thier Verbal was awful or I was :drunk

IMO, the best resources for each type of question are:
CRs - Just focus on GMATPrep and CR1000 (only weaken/strengthen/assumption/paradox/argument evaluation..)
RCs - again OG+GMATPrep+a few RC1000 (don't pick the History+Law passages. On GMAT you are more likely to see 1 or 2 business passages than Justice System/Law passages)
SCs - OG + MGMAT SC Book + SC1000

Again this advice is from someone who could score 80% in Verbal.. so there is my disclaimer :-D
Good luck!
