I am an asian student in Germany and have already finished 2 internships at DWS Investments (Deutsche Asset Management) and Allianz Global Investors in Germany respectively. I got recently an 6-month internship offer at Lazard AM in Germany. As I know, the total Asset under Management at Lazard is only ca.120 Billion. So it means the Lazard's AM is not as preeminent as her core M&A branch? And furthermore her AM business in Germany is even quite smaller. Should man accept this internship there? Thks for your advice.
Asset management is supposedly one of Lazard's core practices (M&A of course being its bread and butter). Lazard Capital Markets is actually a separate company!
I wouldn't be too discouraged by its USD 120 billion AUM - this is a small(ish) company after all. That's quite a lot for the size of the company.
What aspect of asset management are you looking at? Portfolio management? Distribution?
