There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Is it tough to score 40 in verbal? I don't understand how people increase their verbal score to around 40? Is it a # of how many you get wrong, because I don't see a "level of difficulty" difference among the questions.
I am not sure but I do know you have less room for error in verbal. You can get 12 questions wrong in quant and still pull a 50 (95%) but from my experience that wont be the case for verbal. In gmatprep I have gotten 2 questions wrong and pulled a 49 and 5 questions wrong and pulled a 44. (had repeats so not true indicators of my score)
