I am new here and I am very glad that I found this forum. Seems like an ocean of knowledge Math has never been my passion. Anyway, I started to prepare for GMAT and one type of problems is constantly bugging me
I mean this one:
If apples cost "x" dollars per "m" dozen, how much will it cost for "n" apples?
How is it called this type of problem and where can I find information about solving it?
Thanks a lot!

This should be a VIC question, not completely sure though. VIC - Variable expressions In answer Choices. I guess MGMAT Equations, Inequalities and VICS Guide will be helpful.

Thanks for your help.
I am using McGraw Hill GMAT 2011 book, Chili Hot GMAT and GMAT for Dummies plus the free videos from Magoosh. I see that people are recommending Manhattan GMAT. Are they the best?
Also, should I start with the official GMAT book now or should I leave it for the last 2 weeks of preparation?
yea the MGMAT set of 8 guides is good. You really should go through the OG questions now, the last 2 weeks should be for final review and practice tests like GMATClub tests, GMATprep software or MGMAT practice tests.
I will suggest that you read the reviews on the books you're using now and decide whether you want to use other prep materials instead. The MGMAT guides provide a list of relevant questions from the OG for practice at the end of each chapter, which I find really useful.
