Thank you Ma'am for such a clear and elaborate explanation. I am currently in my 5th year of a 5 year B.A.LL.B. Integrated Course which ends in May, 2025 and I had 90% in 10th, 97% in 12th, and currently 3rd rank in my college with a CGPA of 8.98, and I aim to pursue MIM from France beginning in 2025 itself, I am retaking the GMAT Exam in end November however I do wish to inquire that what else should I do to enhance my profile and my chances of getting selected in my dream course.
Hi
MeghaYadav01Most schools, as long as they really love the rest of your profile, will look at the sectional scores to evaluate your fit with the academic requirements. Since the onset of the GMAT FE, we don’t have complete visibility into how schools are comparing candidates, but I can tell you that schools have a target GMAT average in mind, and even a target average for various applicant pools/demographics. For example, in the old edition, a Q49 (~75th percentile) was the borderline elite score for Indian male candidates at top tier schools.
In this cycle, schools are also just getting to understand what the new normal is and what can be considered an average score, for example, for an Indian male IT candidate (the most overrepresented pool). If you are concerned, despite having a solid overall profile, try to maximize your score in the Quant and DI sections for more competitive schools.
The Verbal score is more representative of your command of English. Don’t beat yourself up over Verbal percentiles because there are other ways to convince schools of your strong communication skills.
Best wishes

I gave my GMAT a few days ago on 11th November, 2024 and got a score of 615 (78th Percentile) despite making only 15 mistakes
4 mistakes in Quant (score - 81 - 70th percentile)
6 mistakes in Verbal (score - 81 - 67th percentile)
5 mistakes in DI (score - 80 - 84th percentile)
with such less mistakes I got such a low score, so do business schools see the overall ESR, that what and where I've made mistakes or will they just see my 78th percentile and score of 615.
