Hello :)

The good news is that staying in the same field is not going to be a disadvantage.
An appropriate presentation of your case will be key. Thus, you will need to showcase a strong sync between your short term and long term goals. Additionally, you could also include a larger impact that you wish to leave on your interest area.
Further, you must use your essay to speak about the different tasks you have undertaken. Try to have greater talking points in terms of your accomplishments in whatever you are doing. Needless to say, do speak about the extra curricular activities you may be involved with. A well-rounded profile is always preferred by business schools.

We take this opportunity to invite you for a free profile evaluation. Should you feel the need to discuss the prospects of your admissions, feel free to reach out to us :)

All the best with everything! :)

Be authentic in what you want to do. You want to avoid trying to game the system. If your career goals are less of a stretch, that is not necessarily a bad thing. It for one shows that you will be easier to place post-MBA which is a big evaluation point for admissions. I would say focus on the other aspects of your profile and person that stand. Are there other areas that you are passionate, what unique personal or professional traits would you bring to the student community? Focus on what you uniquely have brought to the organization you have been a part of as well as what you uniquely will bring to campus. The authenticity of your profile is what will help you stand out from the masses
