Hi all,
My rc performance tends to really fluctuate. I have practiced 0G passages where I rarely make more than 1 mistake per 3-4 passages.
however, when I practice tougher questions (like from LSAT or
MGMAT) I get whole passages wrong at a go.
I particularly struggle with RC inference and specific detail questions.
This is my second GMAT attempt. I did poorly my first time around (v32 after not finishing the paper- left 2 questions). I read that the penalty for not answering questions is 3 percentile points. According to this logic I should have scored a v35 ish had I been able to finish.
On the official mocks- I rarely get more than 5 wrong thought verbal and maintain a v41.
however, this does not match up with my actual gmat performance or with how I fare on non official questions that are tougher.
where I really tend to mess up in non official sources is entirely RC. my cr and sc remain the same.
I just took an
MGMAT cat where I made 8 mistakes (5 of which were RC). I even got all three questions on a passage wrong in a row.
What does this say? Moreover, how do I improve? Im finding it hard to estimate where I stand in RC.
Just yesterday I solved 4 700+ level passages (official) and made 1 mistake. Today, I got a whole passage wrong and then some.
What should I do?
