I am an entrepreneur, have been running a successful business for 4 years.
If you are running a successful business, why would you close it (I am assuming you are not planning to continue running the business from ISB, and that's a fair assumption in my opinion)?

I am a Commerce post graduate with above average academics. My Gmat Focus edition score is 645. I am an entrepreneur, have been running a successful business for 4 years. I also have experience working part time as a manager and editor for 2 Youtube channels. I was a member and a district leader at an International NGO for 4 plus years.

Will my profile be competitive enough for ISB, even though my Gmat score is not great?

Kunal8769 B-School candidates are only as competitive as they portray themselves to be. If you believe you have had a steep learning curve and unique experiences in running your successful business, and you can provide facts/recommendations/successes to back up your story, then you are a competitive candidate. I would suggest that you do not aim for entrepreneurial goals in the immediate post-PGP period unless your business is thriving, for which you would need to return to grow it further with your newly acquired business knowledge, as adcoms do not want entrepreneurs to carry the financial burden of an MBA while having to manage their company finances shortly after. I would have liked it if you could tell me more about your business so that I can give you better and more specific advice.

Best wishes

I an running a manufacturing and trading firm for Iron and steel manufacturing parts like screws, rivets, nails, nuts, bolts and fasteners. The business is surviving and giving a steady return but not growing at the pace I would like it to. My short term goal post MBA is to join one of the bigger players in steel industry that hold placements in ISB like JSW and TATA Steel. I hope to join such a corporate and gain experience for 5-10 years while my partner oversees our business. I hope to return to it after I have gained the experience, knowledge and connections I need to grow and evolve my firm in the long run.
