Hi kprabha,

First off, a 690/Q49 is a strong Score, so it could be enough to get you into your first-choice School. As such, a retest might not be necessary. Depending on the Schools that you plan to apply to, you would likely find it beneficial to speak with an Admissions Expert about your overall profile and plans. Those Experts should be able to answer your Admissions questions and help define the specific areas of your profile that could use some improvement. There's a Forum full of those Experts here:

https://gmatclub.com/forum/ask-admissio ... tants-124/

Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far? What “brands” of CATs/mocks have you used?
3) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
4) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

While the ESR doesn’t provide a lot of information, there are usually a few data points that we can use to define what went wrong on Test Day (and what you should work on to score higher) - although we need to consider all of the data in that Report. Since you purchased the ESR, then I'll be happy to analyze it for you (and you can feel free to PM or email it directly to me).

Hi kprabha,

Were the mock exams official GMAC practice exams? Also, can you tell me the dates and score breakdowns from those practice exams?

Hi Scott,
Thanks for replying. I already exhausted the free Official practice exam and someone suggested official tests are easier so not worth buying. But I guess I should have given more official tests. Anyways, I gave gmatwhiz and Manhattan prep tests. I don't have the exact dates but I gave these 4 mocks within a week before appearing for exams. Here are the details.
1) gmatwhiz M3 : Score : 720 (Q50, V 38)
2) gmatwhiz M4 : Score : 750 (Q50, V 41)
3) gmatwhiz M5 : Score : 720 (Q51, V36)
4) Manhattan Prep M1 : Score : 730 (Q 50, V 39)

Now I am aiming for score ~750. I feel like I do know the concepts to get that score but somehow not able to execute it. I have started taking gmatclub forum quiz for now. (forum/forum-quiz-mode-for-gmat-club-forums-357144). I am hoping to appear for next attempt in 2-3 weeks but really not sure if I am ready for that

Hi Rich,
Thanks for replying. I goal is to get score ~750, since I am targeting M7 universities. Here are the details for the questions you asked:
1) I studied for ~4 months before appearing for the test and now it's been 20 days since I appeared for the test. So around 5 months. Typically I give 15-20 hours a week for preparation.
2) First month I used Manhattan prep books, then for 3 months took gmatwhiz course along with gmat official guide. Right now using gmatclub forum to for practice (forum/forum-quiz-mode-for-gmat-club-forums-357144).
3) The mocks I gave within a week before appearing for test.
    gmatwhiz M3 : Score : 720 (Q50, V 38)
      gmatwhiz M4 : Score : 750 (Q50, V 41)
        gmatwhiz M5 : Score : 720 (Q51, V36)
          Manhattan Prep M1 : Score : 730 (Q 50, V 39)
          4) I am planning to apply for fall 2023. Not sure how strong my profile is but dream is US M7, might go till top 20 before considering outside USA

I have emailed you the ECR. Please take a look and let me know your take on that

A consistent Q49 is a good thing to have. If you begin to focus your prep heavily now on Verbal take care to not let your Quant skills rust.

          V 34, Q 49

Consider working on your solving approach as well. This can include working on the way you read through passages. Pattern recognition, for example noticing the True-but-Chronologically wrong answer choice, can be helpful, too.

How to get a V40 or higher on the GMAT? What about a V51?

I got 680 in my first attempt. Even though my last 5 mock test before exams were between 720 - 760. I was hoping for at least 720 in the GMAT exam. Now I am really not sure when to appear for my next attempt. Any help/suggestions for me ?

          Details of first attempt:
          1) V 34, Q 49
          2) Verbal sectional ranking : RC - 83, SC - 81, CR 27 : Don't think my CR is this bad but not sure what happened in the exam
          3) Verbal progression : Q1 : 75%, avg time : 2.01 min, Q2 : 86%, avg time : 2.26 min, Q3 : 57%, avg time : 1.56 min, Q4 : 38%, avg time: 0.53 min
