You can take a mock test whenever you want. It just takes a long time and drains you for a day or two while you do it and analyze it. It was a weekend killer for me

I would say if you have covered all of the quant, you can take Quant CAT's and if you have covered Verbal then Verbal CAT's and if both, then you can take the full test. That's your first indicator.

Your second indicator is if you are performing well on the quizzes and exercises and if you are almost done. it is not helpful to take the test if you are half way done - that's not too productive since you can't use the score but you can still do them if you want to or you like to get a habit of test-taking (which is why we have 26 Quant Tests in GMAT Club Tests)...

How do i decide if I'm ready for Mocks.
Am Good at Quant and i would want to push myself towards Q51.
I Would party all night if i can score V40.
Hence my target would be 740ishh.

So when do i know if I'm ready to Mocks.

Do i test accuracy in individual sections and then go for Mocks.

Specifically asking if i have to practice questions longer or jump or Mocks, works on weaker areas, jump back to mocks, repeat.. ?

Or any other efficient way.

Hi Hemanthdasu13,

You ask an important question but can you provide some more information on your situation with the GMAT?

-- for how long have you been studying?

-- what resources have you been using?

Once I have some more information, I can provide some advice.

Unfortunately it's been a start stop approach.

However I'm studying full time now,
I've gone through basics from Manhattan and Aristotle. Covered GMATNinja videos. All this prep was done last July.

Am currently revisiting old topics, some topics seem familiar but not all which means I'm having to re-read then again.

So I've revised topic wise with only sc left which is a bigger headache.

I've taken only one mock during the start. It was Veritas Mock.
Scored v30Q49.

I don't base my assumptions on it since , i barely know anything at that point.

Hi Hemanthdasu13,

Thanks for reaching out!
At the outset, we would like to point out that its all about the confidence that would be a major factor to decide if you want to take up a mock or not.
How do you think you will have that??
Firstly, complete all modules/areas through concepts and questions.
Secondly, practice from og and analyze your errors in the first place to know exactly where you are going wrong. So, maintain an error log.
This is a non negotiable step.
Once all concepts and og questions with analysis are done with, you will have a certain degree of confidence and that is a good time to test your learning.

That said, we would suggest you to analyze your mocks too and make sure you have 1 day for revision every week.
Build up your base consistently and give yourself measurable goals in terms of number of daily questions, analysis, concept practice or revision.
And the most important aspect is -"plan your prep" !
Do not study randomly. Have an organized approach to complete before you begin with your mocks.
You can reach out to us in case of any further assistance.

Wishing you the very best :)
