Calling all UT McCombs MBA Applicants: 2025 Intake Class of 2027

Heyyy, I had a question, i am trying to apply for MSBA, but without GMAT, is it truly optional or will they penalize me ?

If the school site mentions that GMAT is optional, then it is. If not you must check with the adcom

It depends on your overall profile. If you feel confident in your ability to perform well on the GMAT and believe that it will enhance your application, go ahead and take it. However, if you believe that your professional experience and academic background can stand alone without a GMAT score, then pursuing a waiver could be beneficial.

Update on the Application Fee Waivers - attendees of in-person events will qualify for the app fee waiver. Virtual events are no longer eligible.

Thank you for the update bb. What if one has already received the application waiver through a virtual event (via an email communicating the same) - that would be considered as a special case for waiver or the waiver would be nullified?

Hi qs; McComb application - does not have a GMAT Focus drop down.....
does McComb not accet GMAT focus?

I think we can choose "GMAT" and still add on the GMAT Focus scores. They would get to know that its focus edition from the score itself (ending with 5 instead of 0).

Yes! But, it’s after submitting the application. I guess within 7 days it’s need to submitted.

Is there any option to get an application fee waiver as an international student?

I got mine by Attending an in house info session, I don ́t know if there is any option to get it if you are in different country. You could send an email and ask them directly if there will be any event close to your location.

MBA applicants who meet one or more of the following criteria may qualify for an application fee waiver:
Veteran or current U.S. military service member
Teach for America participant
Forte MBA Launch participant
Fulbright Foreign Student Program
Access Fellow
Former Pell Grant Recipient
We occasionally offer fee waivers for attending specific events. Unfortunately, virtual events do not qualify for a waiver.

We are unable to offer application fee waivers based on financial need.

If you believe that you qualify for one of the above fee waivers, you will request the fee waiver within the application. After your application is submitted, please allow 7-10 business days for application fee waivers to be processed. Processing time does not negatively impact your application. If you believe you are eligible for a fee waiver based on the above criteria, do not pay your application fee. We are unable to refund application fees once they have been paid.

When will we receive the video assessment after submitting the application? any idea?

After you submit your application and pay your fee, you will receive a link to complete the video assessment online. You’ll have seven days from receiving the invitation to complete the videos.
