how do i use it to show that i have been active in extra curricular activities as well..
do you think this will add some stuff to my application..
what sort of advantage will i have through this for my mba???
The schools want to know who you are and what you are capable of. How do you tell them who you are? By telling them your story, your experiences. How do they know whether you are capable? You have to convince them of that based on things you have already done and what you plan to do in future.
No one thing will make them accept you. They don't look for keywords while picking people for their classes. They will look at your application in totality. What you did, what you are doing and what you plan to do should paint a neat picture of who you are and everything should gel properly. Your complete story should make sense to them.
In every school application, you will have ample opportunity to tell them what you are passionate about. It's a part of who you are. If you run a social org, you can tell them about it, about things you do, how you do them, how it affects you, how it affects other people, what are your future plans for this org etc. Show your leadership in running the org, your management skills in conducting the fund raiser etc.
Mind you, don't expect to get any mileage from it if you make it a point in your resume and leave it at that. The one sentence you typed above doesn't tell much.
