How do I tell the adcom I got a promotion

Question

I have already applied to a couple of schools. 
How do I tell them that I got a promotion?
I mean should I just drop in a mail or should I call?
 
Also, I am not very sure how much designantions matter overall in the profile of the candidate....any pointers?

I'm not sure of how you could apporach this issue afterwards. If you are applying though for other schools I would tell somewhere on the essays. Also one of my recommenders is my actual supervisor and he wrote in my recommendations about a promotion I got, I think that's a good strategy.

There is a possibility that I might get a promotion in November, so I would love to know how to approach this.

I am also not sure how much it really matter. I meanits merely a designation change. I am still the same individual I used to be yesterday...so does it even matter?

I think it depends on the schools, some wont care but some might. If they have a forum on their webpage to ask questions check there. If not email or call them and ask politely. Sometimes promotions look great if you are WL.

any findings on this? I just got a promotion from my boss (yay!). It was very kind of him to still fight for my promotion even though he knows I'm leaving next year (hopefully).

I just got promoted about two weeks ago as well. I don't know if they care about my fancy new title though, i'm probably still just another IT geek :cry:

LOL, no, just added a "senior" in front of my engineering title. the pay raise is nice though, haha!

I guess I'll mention it in my interview, if it can be easily slid in. And I can definitely use it for my Kellogg application.

I got Lead in front of mine in June (though I got the promotion in Jan...d@mn government bureaucracy). It will definitely look good on your Kellogg app, it shows continued growth and increase in responsibility.

Strange thing happened a couple of days ago, a HR staff came to me and asked what would make me change my mind regarding my MBA plans :shock:

. I told: "right now nothing as I don't want to 10 years from now regret of not having realized my dream". She stared at me and asked again what would change my mind... I'm not sure what is this about, the CEO of my company had 2 weeks ago declared he wants the company to sponsor me, and now this? Is this any kind of joke or is it just an "endurance teste"? Anyway, I felt that since I made the GMAT things have gotten pretty strange here.

thanks river, yeah, I think it'll help on the Kellogg. I'll have to give the other schools a call to see if it'll help on the R1 applications. Oh wait, I can give them a call now before they close!
