Well, Randy talks about how cool the applicant is for about 10 minutes and decides if you can hack the social part of b-school. Then Paula checks to see if you've got style. If you've got no style, they all just laugh at you! If you've got enough style to get past Paula, maybe put some moves on her, then Simon rips you a new one because you're not applying to LBS. and finally he mutters something about "That is the worst application essay I have every read!"

Does anyone actually know how some schools decide if your accepted? For example, if there are 4 adcom's reviewing your app, and 3 love it and 1 dislikes it, are you in? What if the director of admissions loves it but the other 3 arent to fond? I understand this is a vague questions, but I have always been curious.

Very scientific process involving a ouija board and a magic eight ball.

they do it in committees, via vote at most schools. You get all yes's you get in....get a mixed vote a debate happens and a decision is made, however, the dean of admissoins gets to make the final say no matter what so they may change you to an admit even if the others say ding....finally if everyone says no then you get dinged straight up with no debate.

That's how one of my friend go in Med school. Her dad was on the adcom at a med school. She was applying for another school. He made some calls, same day acceptance.

All you need is connections.
