What's the best choice?

Stay at a hotel in downtown Chicago and taxi it to GSB....

or stay at a hotel close to GSB.

Which would be cheaper? Is chicago downtown pretty condensed? What's there to do in downtown Chicago GSB?

If I were you, I'd stay downtown and cab it to the GSB. There's nothing to do near the Hyde Park Campus. It'll run you about $20-30 to cab it to the GSB from downtown or you can take the train for a few bucks.

Hyde Park would probably be cheaper. Downtown is condensed and there is a lot to do at night and go see.

just out of curiosity, how easy is it to get a cab from GSB back to downtown?
i don't imagine it would be too easy to find a cab while on campus...

Ohare's the bigger airport, right?

I'd imagine some hotels in downtown have shuttles that take you to and from the airport. Any ideas which ones? (yeah, I don't feel like calling up dozens of hotels)

I didnt have trouble when I went down - I imagine on an interview day you'll find them. Worst case, the admissions office can always call one for you.

or two in the vicinity of campus, but you will find best deals downtown Chi. which I was told about $20-$25 taxi ride away from campus. The orange? train line will take you from the airport to downtown which is very conventient and cheap.

FYI. Orange line doesn't run round the clock. Service stops earlier than other days on Sundays. If you are arriving late at Midway and plan to take train, check the sched at yourcta.com. Blue line that connects O'hare with downtown runs round the clock.
