How do you know when you are ready? Last time, I felt that i was ready and did horrible. I have no accurate measure of my abilities. I completed kaplan/cats, pr/cats, og10, gmatprep, and some of the 1000 series. I just feel unconfident. I want to hit that 700 mark but i dont know if im ready. Which is why i have trouble choosing a date and why this thing is dragging on and on. Anyone feel the same?
This is probably a cheap answer, but it depends. It depends on what score you need to get, how the score is weighted in the app process, and maybe a few other individual factors.
For example, I'm going for a executive MBA, so most of my schools will give more weight to my 15+ years of experience a little better indicator of business success than my GMAT score. Still the schools I'm applying have 700 median GMAT scores.
Another check, for me, to the are you ready or not is can you teach it??
In other words, can you present a strategy (and the right answer) to other GMAT students and it's a strategy that can be used on test day? One good way to practice this is to work in a study group or post questions online here.
Another tool is the
error log. Are you consistently weak in an area? - Data Suff, Crit Reasoning, timing, running out of energy? There are tons of post for improving performance in each of these areas.
Hope that helps.
