I tried to seach all of the forums for this topic but could not find a thread, so I apologize if this was already discussed.
From what I read, it seems (obviously) that you should base your decision on school on the one that fits you and your career aspirations best. However, there are many rankings out there, so I was wondering just how important the ranking (or "prestige") of your school is? Is this mainly for national/international recognition? If you planned only staying in a certain region (i.e. West Coast), would this really matter?
