Hello everybody,

I took the GMAT a few weeks ago and scored 730 (50Q, 40V), 5.5 in AWA. Unfortunately during my IR part, the computer bugged and the dropdown menu of a question did not work. Because of this I lost 2-3 minutes in total during IR. The computer was reset and I continued the test normally. Unfortunately, because of this I scored a 3 in IR.
I wanted to ask you: is it really worth retaking the exam? Would this IR score really have an impact? Does the IR really matter in MBA applications?

Or should I just do an item challenge about the IR?

Thank you so much in advance!

First of all report the incident to GMAC, request test center to also help you in taking case with GMAC.
in case of genuine problem , GMAC will allow you to retake exam free of cost.
About the college,
INSEAD is the only school which has put a minimum 6 requirement of IR.

IR section is important for consulting . So after MBA, if you want to get into consulting, you have explain a lot to justify your low IR score.
So It is better to improve your IR score now , if you can easily do it.

Sorry about the mishap and congrats on 730.

IR 3 will attract unwanted attention. I would retake and contact gmac about doing it for free. If you have a chance, please post what you hear from the GMAC.

Good luck!

Hi
First of all, congrats on your great score apart from the IR. The
iR score of 3 can raise a red flag during the admissions. I would suggest to raise this issue with GMAC and claim for a free retest. In my opinion, they may agree. All the best.
