How long to wait between exams? [#permalink]

I took my GMAT earlier this month, and performed so-so. I want to take it again, but wondering the following:

1) How long to take off between I start the (hellacious) study process again?

2) How much time (on average) to spend studying the second time around? I believe I "overstudied" the first time around, racing through problems just to get them all done, and perhaps not spending enough time shoring up areas in which I was weak.

Any suggestions to the above, especially from those who took it twice/three times?

Thanks.

If you are applying for fall 2004, I would try to take it as soon as possible.

I think you definitely did overstudy..since you used the word hellacious. If you pace yourself, you should not be overly stressed about studying. Taking the actual exam is another story!
