(1)
d/ 1.1x = 5

d/x = 5* 1.1 = 5.5hours

How long will it take a truck to drive from Cornwall to West?

(1) If the truck increases its speed by 10%, it will get there in 5 hours.
(2) The truck will pass a car going 45 miles per an hour.

Let speed be 100S , Distance D and time taken T

T = D/100S or D/S = 100T

1. If S increase by 10% , it becomes 110S. time is 5 hours

5 = D/110S

substituting D/S = 100T

5 = 100T/110 , we can find T , hence Sufficient

2. Statement 2 , truck maybe faster than car if both going in same direction. Not Sufficient
