positive differences:
A has 8 poss: 2-9 inclusive
B has 10 poss
C has 10 poss
D has 1 poss
8*10*10*1=800 positive difference possibilities
negative differences:
A has 7 poss: 1-7 inclusive
B has 10 poss
C has 10 poss
D has 1 poss
7*10*10*1=700 negative difference possibilities
800+700=1500 total 4 digit numbers
