I am a believer that from a psychological standpoint it is damn important to get that date on the calendar. So I think once you are ready to start your home stretch/intensive study, set the date.
I haven't taken the GMAT yet, but that is what I'm doing. The added pressure of a date serves as an awesome motivator.
Hi ,
I too have not appeared for the GMAT yet. But beleivw that you should have the GMAT date on the calendar. But you can schedule the date depending upon the time that you require for your preparation.A little pressure of the exam date is always required to keep one going.
If you have a prefered test time, you might have to book the test sooner than later. I wanted to take the test at 8:00, and I had to postpone for three weeks.
I scheduled my GMAT test a few weeks in advance, I don't think you need to do it too far in advance. Of course it depends on your location, some locations fill up faster than others. If you go to mba.com, you can view seating availabilty. Pick a date and stick to it; if you have to change it is only $50.
In case you are a procrastinator: for $50 you can reschedule, but it has to be at least seven calendar days in advance of your currently scheduled test date.
