7!/(2!2!). 7 total letters. 2 Is and 2 Ss. Have to divide by the factorial of the number of repeating elements.

= 7!/(2! * 2!)
= 5040/4
= 1260

No trick question here, I am just plain math dumb.

Trust me GMATT, I love your questions because they test your very basic knowledge which sometimes goes untested. Most of the questions on this forum are tough, some even tougher than what you expect on the real test, so your questions are a good change of pace and an opportunity of those who are lacking in some areas (like me, with comb/perm) to be able to participate and learn.
