BG
Hi
I believe that A is correct
STMNT 1 tells us that the fiqure is a pyramid with base that has 5 edges and the solid has 6 sides
Stmnt 2 the figure can be a pyramid with 7 sides or a cube with 6 sides so stmnt 2 is insufficient
A

Do we have any formula for calculating this...
Eulers formula is there which is
No. of Faces + No. of Vertices = No. of Edges + 2...right...

This doesnt apply here but...

Sunil

A. BG has done it nicely.

its a solid: so there are n sides, total edges are 3n (if triangle) and 2n if pyramid.

1: since 10 is not divisible by 3, it should be a pyramid.
2: since 12 is divisible by 2 and 3, it could be either a pyramid or a 4 sided ractanle solid.

Nice question. I never thought this one but its a good learning in the morning.

Straight up E.

A 'face' is not defined in geometry, only in graph theory.

Euler's relation: V - E + F = 2

The problem does not specify whether the solid is regular or not. As it is written, the answer should be E.
