I think C,
1st - Only 10 students applied for Home Science. Not sufficient.
2nd - Only girls applied for Home Science. also doesn't says anything about count of girls.
Now combining both we can get the count for girls in the class. Hence going with C.

Both options only talk about home science class, what if there are other classes ? Question doesn't throw light on that
If 2nd statement mentioned 'Only girls applied for Home Science AND only Home Science class is there' then it could be C
