Hi
dableM,
To speak generally, if you are ready to apply in round 1, the earlier the better. That said, you should definitely apply only when you are 100% ready. If you feel that you will be able to put together much stronger applications with a higher GMAT and a promotion to showcase, it is likely worth the wait.
While round 1 and round 2 are pretty similar, round 1 applicants tend to be better prepared and stronger, although there are fewer of them. Round 2 is slightly less competitive but there are more applicants. All of the spots are open in round 1, so that is an advantage and it is also better for scholarships. Every year people apply and get in round 3, but it is certainly harder than either of the other rounds.
With Wharton, we typically advise applicants not to wait until round 3. While not a part of the 3 schools you listed, Columbia Business School is another program that we particularly encourage applicants to apply early to. This is in part due to the fact that they are the only major school offering early decision and rolling admissions.

Im curious about how many H/S/W applicants get admitted in each of the rounds? And for other schools as well for that matter.
Is it more or less evenly split, or is there no written rule?
Im trying to figure out what are my chances in round 2 vs round 1. I am looking to skip round 1 for a chance to increase my GMAT substantially and hopefully get a promotion before round 2.
