How many numbers between 101 and 1001 are divisible by 6 but not by 15?

Find the number of numbers divisible by 6:

The highest number divisible by 6 that's less than or equal to 1001 is 996.

The lowest number divisible by 6 that's greater than or equal to 101 is 102.

(996 - 102)/6 + 1 = 149 + 1 = 150

Find the number of numbers divisible by 6 and 15:

Any number divisible by 6 and 15 will be divisible by 30, their least common multiple.

The highest number divisible by 30 that's less than or equal to 1001 is 990.

The lowest number divisible by 30 that's greater than or equal to 101 is 120.

(990 - 120)/30 + 1 = 29 + 1 = 30

Subtract the number divisible by 30 from the number divisible by 6:

150 - 30 = 120

A. 90
B. 120
C. 140
D. 150
E. 180

Correct answer: B
