Given: 1 pound = 16 ounces

Since we are asked to find the total number of ounces in p pounds and q ounces,

we need to calculate the number of pounds in terms of ounces, which is 16*p ounces.

Therefore, the total ounces in p pounds and q ounces is 16*p + q(Option E)

1 Pound=16 ounces
P pounds=16 p ounces
p pounds and q ounces= 16p+q ounces

Since p pounds is 16p ounces, p pounds and q ounces is 16p + q ounces.
