Just finished taking the GMAT online and got a 740 (V44, Q48). Objectively I know I should be happy with this score, but it's not great compared to my six official mocks. My baseline mock was 720 (cold), and then I got a 730, 770, 760, 770, and 770 on the subsequent official mocks over a few weeks of moderate studying.
Is it worth taking again in a few days? Does a 740 vs. 770 really matter for b-school admissions?
Any feedback would be helpful!

A: If all you have to do is sit for the exam again (and do not prep), then it's worth the cost and time to retake the test. You have nothing to lose.

A: Basically, no. You're not going to not get in because you ONLY have a 740. You're not going to get in because you have a 770. You MIGHT improve your chances at scholarship money with a 770 (versus a 740) but even that isn't verifiable.
In short, take the exam again. You can only improve your situation, even if it's only on the margins.
