I have doubt on gmat score required for me. Even after reading many blogs I am not able to figure out what score will be best for me to get admission in colleges I want.
Following is my qualification if someone can answer how much gmat score I need for admission in one of these 3 colleges:iima, iimb or isb.
I have following qualification:
1. BTech(IT) 65%
2. MTech(IT-WCC) 8.5 GPA
3. 8+ year experience in IT Industry (Europe and America Experience)
4. Certificates:
a. Project Management Professional(PMI Institute).
b. Business Development Manager (TM forum)
5. Certificates in Leadership and Communication:
a. Competent Communicator in Toastmaster International.
b. Competent Leader in Toastmaster International.
6. President of the Toastmaster International Club of my area and involved in various social activities.
If someone experience can give his insights on this, so that I can set my target for gmat score. I have 3 months for preparation.
It is hard to define the GMAT score one needs for admission. Depending on the profile and the way essays and interview are handled, one could get admitted to a great college even with a low score or one may not get admission even with a 99 percentile score.
Usually, people target at least the average of the last incoming class - more is better. The colleges you have mentioned average around 700 so I would suggest you to aim for that. The typical male IT applicant usually needs a higher GMAT score than say someone from armed forces.
Think of it this way - if your score is below the average, you would need to give a very strong reason for the college to let you pull down the average.
So at the average or a bit above is a safer bet.
