Statement 1: The cost of the fabric per square yard gives me no insights into the amount of fabric purchased. Hence, I cannot determine the price I paid to purchase that certain amount of fabric. Eliminate A, D.
Statement 2: Essentially the same information as statement 1. Nothing new. Here's how:
Let total amount of fabric purchased be x sq.yards at $P per sq.yard
Therefore, money spent = x*P
If I purchase 6 more sq yards, I would pay (6+x)*P and I know this is $90 more than x*P
(6+x)*P = x*P + 90
6P + x*P = x*P + 90
6P = 90
P = 15
Eliminate B.
Even on combining statements 1 and 2 we cannot answer our question, because they are essentially the same statements and they are individually insufficient.
Hence, we cannot answer this question even using both the statements together, option E.
