Hello everyone,
I have been planning to write GMAT for the last 5-6 months but have not yet done that. Part of it is because I chickened out a few times knowing fully well how important this test is to my future. The other part is sheer lack of consistent effort. Now in the last few months, I've been busy with a job change and had some personal traumas to tackle, which completely side tracked me.
Now, I've recovered somewhat and I'm trying to get my MBA preparation back in gear. I plan to apply to part time MBA schools in fall 2007 and I plan to write my GMAT in March. I went through the following thus far -
the Princeton review for GMAT
Kaplan tests - didn't do too well averaged around a 630 (700 highest, 580 in lowest)
800score - 5 tests with an average of around 630-640
Took both the powerprep tests. Scored 710 in first and 610 in second.
So, as you can see I have been very inconsistent. My target score is no less than a 660 and hopefully touching the 700 mark. I am weak in the verbal where I usually see a string of mistakes in comprehensions and sentence corrections. I am using the
OG 11th edition along with Kaplan 800.
My questions are the following:
Is my goal practical given the time frame of less than 3 months?
If not what should be my ideal time frame?
When should I apply for (part time MBA)? I have to obviously give time for the rest of the application process.
What should my GMAT strategy be from this point onwards?
I must add, I've seen so far people getting some very valuable advice from those who have successfully written the GMAT. I very much count on your collective experience as a guide post for me.
Thanks.
